The words of the Ukrainian President concerning the victims among the civilian population, language and religious harassment and the violations of the declared armistice are the height of cynicism.
Petro Poroshenko, who sent an army to fight people and who has imbrued his hands with the blood of innocent citizens, who signs amnesty for true criminals and rabid nationalists, instead of signing amnesty under the Minsk agreements. The President, who turned down the idea of deploying the UN force that is meant to find the political resolution of the conflict, has suddenly become the “President of Peace”. He now insists on the imposition of peace-keepers on the territory of Donbass to restore ʺthe justice and sovereignty of Ukraine” and, in fact, to cleanse the territory of the Republics by the efforts of blue helmets.
Alas, the position of the Ukrainian government has long been clear or hardly surprising. But there is no force that can be a substitute for a political settlement and that is why we place hope in the world community and remain committed to the peaceful developments.
