Ukrainian media announce participation in the military parade, which will be held in Kiev on August 24, of representatives of the alliance member countries’ armies.
The official Kiev and all kinds of “patriots” are in a hurry to express delight over this event. Infantile aspiration of Ukraine to enter at least some western international formation or union has become a byword.
In this regard, it is necessary to note an event that undoubtedly spoiled the holiday for the Kiev regime. Despite the incessant statements of the Ukrainian leadership about the strongest army in Europe, in 2017, in the annual ranking of the military power of Global Firepower, Ukraine was already on the 30th place after such countries as Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, Taiwan, Thailand, Algeria and Poland.
However, the Ukrainian media preferred not to notice this unpleasant fact – it is much easier to come up with tales about AFU ‘victories’ in the Donbass and write bravura texts about the plans for the army’s transition to NATO standards.
If the citizens of Ukraine, just like the citizens of the DPR, would follow the daily reports of the DPR Operational Command’s Vice-Commander, Eduard Basurin, they could make a conclusion not only about the morale of the AFU military, but also about their mythical successes. But Ukrainians will be being distracted by parades with representatives of armies of the countries-participants of NATO…
The participation of the latter in the military parade is already presented as the West’s approval of the Ukrainian vector of the joining NATO, and also as the country’s achievement in this partnership. In fact, it already seems like not a parade of Ukraine’s ‘independence’, but a gift to the countries of NATO of its independence.
