Denis Pushilin addresses Martin Sajdik asking for assistance in transfer of Petition about nonfulfillment of Package of measures by Ukraine in international organizations

On August 3, a meeting of the Contact Group on conflict resolution in Donbass was held in Minsk. The agenda included issues related to the deterioration of the situation on the contact line.

Political issues still play a key role in the negotiations, said the source of the Minsk peace talks.

“Political points in particular of the Package of measures are the basis of a peaceful resolution of the conflict. However, today we face lack of knowledge of the Ukrainian side about these or other documents or agreements reached earlier, as well as reluctance to record already agreed points, although it would greatly facilitate the work of the subgroup. We believe that the work in accordance with the regulations would manage this situation”, the source explained.

According to the source at negotiations in Minsk, it was particularly difficult to discuss issues related to the increasing number of shelling in the territory of the DPR and LPR by Ukrainian side.

“According to the data, the DPR area was fired last week 3279 times, and nearly 3000 times over the past four days. One civilian was killed and three others were seriously injured, houses and infrastructure are destroyed”, the source announced the statistics.

Within the work of the Contact group Denis Pushilin notified Martin Sajdik on the signatures collection which is taking place in the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics under the Petition about nonfulfillment of the Package of measures by Ukraine. The plenipotentiary of the DPR addressed the coordinator of Contact group about assistance in transfer of collected signatures and the Petition in the international organizations, including the UN Security Council, OSCE, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and also to the participants of the “Normandy Format”.
