I am very glad that the representatives of Donbass, together with you, members of the Young Army movement, celebrate National Unity Day today. We consider ourselves an inseparable part of the Russian world and this gives us strength to fight aggressor. I am sure that victory will be ours and we can assert our right to be a part of the vast Russian world.

The history of our great motherland has shown that only through the concerted efforts will we be able not only to oppose enemies but to give a response that will put them off opposing us for many years to come! Congratulations to everyone on the occasion and I wish each of you to remember your roots and be proud of your country,ʺ the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council said.

Igor Plotnitsky, in his speech, noted that the young age of the movement members did not stop them from choosing the path of the defender of the Fatherland.

ʺAge does not matter in defending the motherland. What matters is patriotism. It does not need propaganda and it is something more that must live in your hearts. Patriotism must give you strength to defend your homeland, your holidays and your traditions. This was also the case in 1941 and 2014, when our youth stood for the protection of the People’s Republics. Today you are the heirs of the Great Victory and I wish you to be worthy successors of your great grandfathers, grandfathers, and fathers,ʺ the Head of the LPR added.

The deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Andrey Kozenko noted that there were no differences between Russians and the inhabitants of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republic.

ʺI am pleased that both citizens of Donetsk and Lugansk, who visit Russia, are not guests. They come home, because their people, their culture are no different from ours.

I wish all the participants of the meeting find their way of life and show themselves a true patriot of their homeland — in culture, science or sports. The most important thing is to be one people,ʺ Andrey Kozenko summed up.
