On November 8, a commemorative event, which was dedicated to Law Enforcement Officers Day, took place in the assembly hall of the Donetsk Academy of the DPR Ministry of Internal Affairs. The event was attended by the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin, the DPR People’s Council’s deputy Aleksey Zhigulin, the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Mikhail Kushakov,the Acting Deputy Minister of Income and Charges Sergey Chetverikov.
Denis Pushilin congratulated the students of the academy and law enforcement officers on their professional holiday.
ʺIn the present situation and difficult circumstances, you tackle the responsibilities entrusted to you. Some unscrupulous law enforcement officers dishonoured their uniforms in the time of Ukraine. But in 2014, you kept your oath and proved loyalty to your people. Many of you defended our land with weapons in your hands and fully confirmed your high rank as law enforcement officers. You have earned the esteem and confidence of the population of the DPR. Your credibility among the citizens of the Republic is now many times higher than it was before.
To preserve and multiply the trust that has already been obtained is largely dependent on the students who are raised and educated in the walls of the Donetsk Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It also depends on the teachers who shape their worldview and build positive attitude of young students towards the surrounding world. The extent to which our citizens feel safe depends on you.
I wish you and your loved ones health, success and faith in our young Republic!,ʺ the parliamentarian speaker of the DPR wished the law enforcement officers.
The Vice-Chancellor of the Donetsk Academy of the DPR Ministry of Internal Affairs Anatoly Popov thanked the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council and the deputy corps for their support.
ʺThe People’s Council‘s support of the academy and educational process is visible. The deputy corps works side by side with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as evidenced by the laws enacted to regulate the activities of law enforcement agencies,ʺ Sergey Goncharov said.
The First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Mikhail Kushakov also congratulated the representatives of the internal affairs authorities of the DPR.
ʺMany of you are the successors of the glorious cause of the militia, now the police. As I speak to students and cadets, I want to say that you are preparing to stand up for the protection of our Republic, which is actively developing today. You will be entitled to undertake tremendous responsibilities. I wish you to finish your studies with honour, to become a high-class professionals and to be worthy of the high rank of a graduate of the Donetsk Academy of the DPR Ministry of Internal Affairs,ʺ Mikhail Kushakov said.
The Acting Deputy Minister of Income and Charges Sergey Chetverikov, for his part, congratulated the law enforcement officers. He wished them health and the very best, emphasizing that the tranquillity and well-being of civilians depended on the officers of the MIA.
In honour of the professional holiday, the distinguished teachers and cadets of the academy were rewarded. The audience observed a minute of silence for law enforcement officers who had lost their lives upholding the law. A holiday concert was then held on the occasion of the Law Enforcement Officer Day.
