On November 1, a solemn event dedicated to the Day of Rescue Service Worker, which was attended by the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin, the Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters Alexey Kostrubitsky was held.
“We are all residents of Donbass, and we know how accidents in the mines happen. And you, rescuers, were directly in the thick of things,” the DPR Speaker of Parliament addressed the audience. “The war is not over, it lasts for more than two years, but you have made truly heroic feats in peacetime too. I am very pleased that Republic’s rescuers now have their own holiday, and on this day I am sincerely glad to congratulate our heroes.”
Emergencies Minister thanked the staff of the Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters for their dedicated work to the benefit of the inhabitants of the Republic.
“Today, on 1 November, Rescue Service is celebrating its feast. This is the first anniversary. In conditions of war, rescue service are very important, they have to work in difficult conditions, eliminating emergencies. I congratulate everybody on the holiday and by tradition I wish that the number of descents equals the number of ascents,” Alexey Kostrubitsky congratulated.
Distinguished rescue service workers were awarded with diplomas of the DPR People’s Council, as well as with departmental awards of the DPR MES.
