On September 27, the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Tourism Mikhail Mishin and the Minister of Education and Science Larisa Polyakova met with the winners of the World Championship in ship modeling.
Denis Pushilin congratulated the winners of the Championship with a deserved victory, and presented certificates of honor of the DPR People’s Council to sportsmen.
ʺIt is very nice that our sportsmen have won so many medals and cups. This is a great work and an effort. But it is a shame that such achievements are hidden from general public. Achievements and victories of our sportsmen on the international arena must be known: they are our heroes we are proud of,ʺ Denis Pushilin said.
According to Larisa Polyakova, 2016 was the year when trainings of ship modeling instructors began.
ʺThe fact that we are reviving this sport direction is very pleasing. I would like to see more young people joining this sport in the future, and that is why we have developed an additional education program for children and adults. I am proud to be here today, I am proud that the Republic has people like you: innovators, ideological, who has a deep understanding of the importance of their work,ʺ the Minister said.
The Minister of Youth, Sports and Tourism emphasized the prospective of ship modeling in the Republic in his opening speech.
ʺTogether with the leadership of the Republic, we focused on supporting this kind of sport. I am sure that we will obtain world-wide recognition with these sportsmen, and the whole world will be known about your victories and exploits,ʺ Mikhail Mishin noted.
