Denis Pushilin offers Kiev to begin carrying out “Minsk-2” now and not after 5 years as they plan

The Ukrainian authorities must begin carrying out Minsk agreements on the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbass, and not to postpone this process for 5 years. This was stated to DAN by the Head of the DPR’s delegation at negotiations of the contact group Denis Pushilin.

Earlier today, the Ukrainian representative in the working group on security issues Eugene Marchuk said that currently it is impossible to hold the elections in Donbass (one of the key conditions of the “Minsk-2”). According to him, it is necessary that 4-5 years would pass. “The more, the better,” Marchuk responded.

“This is another attempt of the Ukrainian side to delay the process of negotiations. The Package of measures is in black and white: adopt laws on elections and on the special status, amnesty, and on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine, agreed with representatives of the DPR and the LPR, and to hold the elections in compliance with OSCE ODIHR standards,” Pushilin reminded.

He added that all that is needed to achieve peace is, “do not twist, do not interpret in their own way and step by step carry out paragraphs of the Package of measures”.
