For two years, Donbass has been trying to convey to the international community the truth about criminality of the Ukrainian regime, political repressions, cruel treatment of prisoners and detainees, inability of the Ukrainian government to implement agreements and conventions.
Today, human rights organizations subscribe to our words. Violating norms of international law and obligations under the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, Ukraine denies the UN Subcommittee for the Prevention of Torture access to the places where, according to information of the human rights organization, the Security Service of Ukraine tortures people. The Ukrainian government`s disregard of norms of international law and the non-implementation of the documents which are significant for the international community suggests the only thing: Ukraine has something to hide from the world.
And it concerns not only cruelty towards people.
The truth is also the war unleashed by Ukraine against its own people, killing of thousands of innocent citizens and daily shelling of civilian towns, and all this should be revealed.
We have repeatedly warned our European partners and coordinators of the Minsk negotiations about the consequences of Ukrainian soldiery` actions. One-sided occupation of “grey areas” would inevitably lead to approach of the opposing parties and to escalation of the conflict. This happened in the area of the Yasinovataya checkpoint. Advance of Ukrainian soldiers and occupation of a buffer zone resulted in the parties` being within sight of each other. It led to massive shelling of Yelenovka, Dokuchaevsk, Donetsk, civilian casualties and destruction of the infrastructure.
Ukrainian soldiery is not ashamed of shelling those who are trying to convey the truth to the world. Opening fire on journalists and the OSCE monitoring mission is the latest “victories” of Ukraine.
We do not call on the international community to radical measures against the Ukrainian government or state, we only ask the guarantors of the Minsk agreements to fulfill their guarantees and put pressure upon the Ukrainian government for the implementation of the commitments it has made.
