Denis Pushilin statement on need to take stronger measures against Ukraine

Thirteen steps towards peace and hundreds of hours of political debate in Minsk for the 2.5 million residents of the Donetsk People’s Republic still sound like night cannonade from the standpoints of Ukrainian artillery.

Only in the last three days, the territory of the Republic has been fired more than 2,000 times, and artillery shells caliber 150 mm and 122 mm mortars of a caliber of 120 mm and 82 mm, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers arms and light weapons were used. The fire of “glorious” Ukrainian army hit Zaitsevo, Gorlovka, Yasinovataya, Spartak, Sahanka, airport area, Petrovsky and Kuibyshevsky districts of Donetsk. Over the three days one civilian was killed and three others were seriously injured, 28 house construction were damaged, infrastructure has been destroyed. And all this happened in the presence on our territory of SMM OSCE and other international organizations.

Who else should Donbass address in order to be heard? How many of innocent civilians should be killed under the fire of Ukrainian executioners before our Western partners become aware of the falsity of the Ukrainian government?

For over a month we are trying to agree on just three points to disengage the warring sides, which, in turn, would significantly reduce the stress on the contact line. But the thing is that Ukraine does not need it, in the same way as the implementation of the remaining paragraphs of the Package of measures and peace in Donbass region in general.

We urge the Special monitoring mission of the OSCE as the coordinator of the negotiating process, as well as representatives of “Normandy Format” as guarantors of the implementation of measures to more drastic measures towards Ukraine.
