On September 28, 2016, a festive concert dedicated to the Day of Education and Science Workers was held in the Donetsk State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after A. Solovyanenko.
The Chairman of the People’s Council Denis Pushilin, the Deputy Chairman of the People’s Council Olga Makeyeva, the deputies Miroslav Rudenko, Alla Obolenskaya and Mikhail Tikhonov were present as honoured guests at the concert.
The DPR Parliament Speaker in his opening speech stressed the role of educators and science workers in the development of the state. Denis Pushilin congratulated them on their professional holiday and thanked for their patience and dedication.
“This holiday has long been considered nationwide, because each of us in life had teachers, favourite and not so. But we all remember with great trepidation our carefree years of study, especially when we visit the school holidays, and to some extent we envy today’s schoolchildren.
Today we are experiencing not the easiest period, but teachers of the Republic have done and are doing for our children very much. Thanks to the teachers they were able to look at the events from a different angle. Our children learned to appreciate such things as the life and health of loved ones, the heat in the homes and the lack of bombardments. They are now looking differently at such concepts like “Homeland,” “honour,” “duty”…
Today teachers have a huge responsibility with which they successfully cope. Our main task is to not let go off the hearth of patriotism in our children and our future generations. I express my gratitude for what you, despite all difficulties, continue working and looking with optimism into the future,” Denis Pushilin congratulated.
The Chairman of the People’s Council awarded 16 educators and science workers who came to the top with honorary diplomas. During the event, the Head of the Ministry of Education and Science Larisa Polyakova also awarded her colleagues with departmental awards.
The Chairman of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture Miroslav Rudenko also joined the congratulations. In the commentary to the press service of the People’s Council, he stressed that education and science are closely intertwined.
“This year, the Day of Education and Science Worker is celebrated for the second time in the Republic. According to the extent of this holiday, we can conclude that the Republican government pays due attention to these areas. After all, education and science are indeed priority areas of national development, and the development of science is impossible without a solid foundation of quality education.
Today I would like to especially mention the courage, resilience and optimism of life of our teachers and scholars who in the difficult period of state formation continued qualitatively, with full dedication and faith in the future, working for the good of the Republic. They continue educating our young people, creating human and scientific potential of the state. I would like to wish all the teachers and scientists every success and creative discoveries, belief in their own strength, health and peace,” Miroslav Rudenko concluded.
