On December 15, within the parliamentary hour, the Minister of Coal and Energy Eduard Golenko presented a report on the work of the relevant ministry, after which the deputies asked him clarifying questions.
One of the most topical issues of the deputies was the situation around the provision of household fuel (coal allowance) to the population and the quality of the coal produced.
Answering the questions of the deputies, Eduard Golenko spoke about the standards for marking coal issued to the population, noting that the inconsistencies in the quality of coal of a particular brand of the accepted classification are explained solely by the human factor and are not systemic.
In turn, Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin stressed that the issue of providing coal remains the most frequently asked of those that deputies receive from citizens during receptions in the districts. He invited the Minister of Coal and Energy to conduct joint field visits for verification of violations.
“I suggest that you (the Minister of Coal and Energy – ed.) hold a joint reception of citizens in one of the deputy reception rooms. Perhaps you will find the ultimate solution, create a special commission. I am ready to go along with you,” the Speaker of the DPR Parliament suggested.
