Republic continues to collect evidence of war crimes of Ukrainian authorities within territory of Donbass

Last week in Makeevka there was a meeting of members of the Special Commission on the recording and collecting of evidence of war crimes of the Ukrainian authorities in Donbass, which was attended by the deputy of the People’s Council of DPR from “Free Donbass” fraction Elena Melnik.

Within the action representatives of Administration of the Head of DPR, the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Justice and the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the DPR met Oksana Soldatchenkova, mother of 5-year-old Artem Loginov who died on September 8, 2014, as a result of a shelling from the AFU’s settlement Nizhnyaya Krynka of Makeevka.

The deputy Elena Melnik reminded that the collection of information about children killed in the fighting, and children injured, which led to the death, in the period from April 2014 to the present continues in Donetsk People’s Republic. As the parliamentarian noted, having finished the collection of information they plan to create a memorial book for the victims of the Ukrainian authorities’ war crimes in the Republic.

“None of our tragedies must be ignored! For me, being a woman, being a mother of two children, it is difficult to imagine what did the mother who lost her child feel. As people say, two in distress makes sorrow less.

I am grateful to Oksana that she had agreed to meet, and found the strength to share her grief with us. No words of sympathy will comfort a grieving mother’s heart, but sympathy is not only words, but also deeds which are aimed at comforting the grieving”, Elena Melnik said.

The deputy of the People’s Council Elena Melnik provided Oksana Soldatchenkova with assistance in the form of building materials for the composition of her son’s tomb.
