On September 30, 2016, the Republic of South Ossetia Parliament’s Chairman Anatoly Bibilov visited the plenary session of the People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
In his speech, Anatoly Bibilov thanked the DPR People’s Council deputies for the invitation and spoke about the plans on enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
“Our legislative bodies have already signed the memorandum. Let me say that this is only the first step. I am convinced that in the near future our countries will sign a full agreement that would cover all spheres of life of our republics, including economic, social, military and educational. In addition, I am sure that interdepartmental treaties and agreements defining interstate interaction of power structures of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Republic of South Ossetia will also be signed,” Anatoly Bibilov noted.
Republic of South Ossetia Parliament’s Chairman said that the purpose of his visit to the Donetsk People’s Republic is participation in the Primaries as an observer. Anatoly Bibilov acknowledged the DPR’s efforts to improve the living standards of citizens.
“I believe the Donetsk People’s Republic makes serious steps in terms of improving living conditions and respect for fundamental human rights written in the Constitution – the right to life, the right to work, the right to elect and be elected. The Primaries, which will be held in the DPR on October 2, confirm this,” said the Speaker of the South Ossetian Parliament.
According to Anatoly Bibilov, the Republic of South Ossetia and Donetsk People’s Republic are going similar ways. He expressed hope for peace establishment in Donbass and the imminent end of the military conflict.
“I am convinced that the peace that we all dream of will come after all, and the development of the Donetsk People’s Republic will proceed more intensively. Starting from 2014, I often come to the DPR, and, based upon the number of people and the overall situation, we can say that life is returning to Donbass,” Anatoly Bibilov summed.
