We continue to advocate the implementation of the “Steinmeier formula”. This formula was proposed and approved at the Paris summit on October 2. However, the Ukrainian side on the subgroup on political issues had been delaying the discussion throughout the year, trying to make the issue fall outside the scope of agenda and, in fact, sabotaged the work in this direction.
The “Steinmeier formula” was supported by all leaders of “Normandy Four”, including the Ukrainian side, at the Berlin summit on October 19. However, we could not count on constructive proposals for this crucial issue at the today’s meeting in Minsk.
We hope that the guarantor states’ influence on Ukraine will be efficient, so we could implement the “Normandy Four’s” recommendations at the next Minsk meeting on November 9.
