Absurdity of policy pursued by West is no surprise to anyone: Vladimir Bidyovka on EU sanctions for elections in Donbass

EU sanctions for organizing elections in the Donbass will not have any negative effect, Vladimir Bidyovka, Chairman of the People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic, expressed his opinion to RIA Novosti.

Earlier, a RIA Novosti’s source in the EU composition said that the ambassadors of the EU countries had agreed to include in the sanctions list nine people who the EU considered responsible for organizing elections in the Donbass in November.

“The sanctions list of the EU and the USA contains about 100 people related to the formation of the Donbass Republics. The recent inclusion in this list of nine more people who took part in organizing the elections for the Head of the DPR and the deputies of the People’s Council will not have any negative effect,” Vladimir Bidyovka said.

In his opinion, the policy pursued by the West is surrealism.

“Under the pretext of protecting democracy, they introduce sanctions against citizens who have organized one of the main democratic procedures – elections. This suggests that for the sake of maintaining anti-Russian rhetoric, the West is ready to force bees fight honey, and the absurdity of such methods is no surprise to anyone,” the parliament speaker added.

We recall, following the elections on November 11, 2018, Denis Pushilin became the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic. In the People’s Council, the Donetsk Republic parliamentary faction will be represented by 74 deputies, 26 mandates are held by the Free Donbass parliamentary faction.
