Activists of public movement “Donetsk Republic” meet with Russian public and political figure Nicolai Starikov
On August 15, a meeting of “Donetsk Republic” public movement’s activists with the Russian public and political figure Nikolai Starikov was held in Donetsk.
According to the correspondent of the official website of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council, the Head of the Executive Committee of the “Donetsk Republic” public movement Denis Pushilin, the People’s Council’s deputies, heads of ministries and departments, activists and members of the public movement participated in the event.
Nikolai Starikov shared his impressions of a visit to the Donetsk People’s Republic during the meeting.
ʺIt is the third time I have come to Donetsk. The first time was in 2013, when nothing foretold further tragic developments. Then I was in here 2015, now in 2017. I see that Donetsk has become more beautiful, streets are kept clean, fountains work and people walk around. And most importantly, I heard gunshots and cannonade in 2015. But now it is gone. This does not mean that the war is over, but the situation is improving, becoming more peaceful,ʺ Nikolai Starikov said.
Also, the attendees discussed the current political situation in the world and the progress of global economic and geopolitical processes within the framework of the event.
ʺWe think alike, our views are exactly the same, – Nikolai Starikov said. And we are unanimous that the existing world system imposed upon us by the US and their allies cannot exist. Donbass has become a symbol of resistance to this system, and Russia as well as the whole world looks at you with hope.ʺ
The Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin, in his turn, thanked Nikolai Starikov for this assessment.
