Alexander Kamyshov: Ukraine’s government will have to hear Donbass’ residents

Ukraine’s signing of the Steinmeier formula is a great political victory obtained by negotiators of the independent Republics. Thanks to this, it has become possible to hold a meeting in the Normandy format to discuss concrete steps to further progress towards peace in Donbass. This was stated by Deputy of the People’s Council Alexander Kamyshov in his commentary to the official website of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

ʺThe Steinmeier formula is basically a road map for the settlement of the conflict in Donbass. Currently, the first thing we need to do is to cease fire and separate forces and means in the Petrovskoye and Zolotoye areas. And there are many more of such steps.

The Ukrainian side has repeatedly tried to enter into commitments to implement the Minsk agreements, but, as we know, the leadership of this country has only delayed all attempts to end the bloodshed in Donbass for five years. Ukraine does not fulfil its commitments not only to inhabitants of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, but also to the international community. Therefore, it is impossible to talk about the full implementation of the Minsk agreements or any other document by the Ukrainian side.

The Ukrainian government will have to listen to residents of Donbass, because the war cannot be stopped without our participation,ʺ Alexander Kamyshov said.
