Alexander Kurenkov: Ukraine wants peace in word, but keeps waging war in deed

While the President of Ukraine Zelensky admonishes Ukrainian radicals, the intensity of shelling by the AFU has increased along the entire line of demarcation. This was stated by Deputy of the DPR’s People’s Council Alexander Kurenkov in a commentary to the official website of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

ʺPresident Zelensky stated in his last statement that the Steinmeier formula only envisaged a date when Ukraine’s law on a special status would enter into force. He is temporising, since radical nationalists has been calling the signing of a document on Ukraine’s agreement to the Steinmeier formula treason and protesting. He does not mention that the formula clearly spells out the implementation of the Minsk agreements and allows peace to finally be established in Donbass. It is quite possible that the new president of Ukraine will employ Porosenko’s favourite strategy – to sign everything and not to implement anything. While Zelensky admonishes Ukrainian radicals, the intensity of shelling by the AFU has increased along the entire line of demarcation. This is a clear demonstration of how Ukraine wants peace in word, but it keeps waging war in deed,ʺ Alexander Kurenkov said.
