Andrey Borisov: Death of Alexander Zakharchenko will not negatively affect combat capability of Republic’s army
The decisions, which have been approved by the People’s Council today, are adopted to maintain security in the Republic. This was stated by a deputy Andrei Borisov in an interview to the journalist of the DPR official website.
ʺI think the decision made today is right. In this difficult time for the Republic, the People’s Council is the only legitimate body that has made this decision to unite all forces with a single front. We intend to continue to carry out the tasks, which Alexander Vladimirovich Zakharchenko assigned, and his death should not affect the combat capability of our army,ʺ Andrey Borisov.
It should be reminded that the People’s Council adopted a decree on the early termination of the power of the Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko in connection with his death and appointed Denis Pushilin to the post of the Acting Head of the DPR on September 7.
The Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic died on August 31, as a result of the terrorist attack in the centre of Donetsk, a mourning ceremony for the leader of the state took place on September 2. According to parliamentarians, the tragic death of the head of the state led to a legal stalemate situation in the Donetsk People’s Republic. In connection with this, the Acting Prosecutor-General of the Donetsk People’s Republic and Senior Counsellor of Justice Andrey Spivak made a submission to the People’s Council on the correction of breaches of the law and necessity to appoint the Acting Head of the Donets People’s Republic.
