Best employees of DPR Emergency Ministry awarded to celebrate professional holiday in Republic

On December 27, a festive occasion dedicated to Emergency Rescuer’s Day took place in the capital’s Centre for Slavic Culture. DPR Head Denis Pushilin, DPR People’s Council Chairman Vladimir Bidyovka, delegations from the Russian Federation, the Lugansk People’s Republic, the Republics of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, representatives of relevant ministries and departments attended it.

Addressing the participants of the event, the Head of the Republic noted the prestige of the rescuer’s profession.

“Being a rescuer is a vocation. This is a difficult, dangerous, but very noble and important profession. You put your own lives at risk for the sake of saving people. Only strong, courageous and brave people are capable of this. Like you are! Thanks to you, during the existence of the DPR Ministry of Emergency Situations, about 5,000 people were saved, 1,800 in this year alone!

In the most dangerous moments, you come to the rescue of everyone who is in trouble. And each of you rightfully deserves universal respect. What is an emergency for ordinary people is daily work for a rescuer: preventing disasters, extinguishing fires and the consequences of accidents, identifying and destroying explosive objects.

On your shoulders lies a huge burden of responsibility, which you carry with honour and dignity.

I express my deepest gratitude and appreciation for your service and fidelity! I wish you strong health, happiness, peace, prosperity to you and your families! Happy holiday!” Denis Pushilin said.

During the official part of the event, the head of state awarded the Emergency Ministry employees with badges of merit, medals and diplomas.

By order of the Minister for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Relief of the DPR, for significant contribution to the development and ensuring the successful functioning of the Unified State Emergency Prevention and Response System, the Head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, was awarded the departmental award – an army officer dagger.

In turn, the People’s Council Chairman expressed gratitude to the rescuers for daily selfless work for the benefit of the residents of the Republic.

“A rescuer is not just a profession, but a vocation. Helping others in a difficult moment, appreciating another person’s life above their own is the quality of strong, noble, and courageous people. It is these qualities that are inherent in you that help in the struggle for the most precious thing – the life and health of people.

Sometimes you are the last hope of a person who is in trouble. Sometimes you are the very thread between life and death, and, alas, sometimes you save someone’s life without sparing yours. That is why we must always remember those guys, those rescuers who did not return from the call.

You always guard the calm life of the Republic. Thank you so much for that!

I wish each of you peaceful skies, our victory and, of course, strong health and less disturbing calls,” Vladimir Bidyovka noted.

The Speaker of Parliament awarded the best workers of the DPR Emergency Ministry with the letters of gratitude of the Chairman of the People’s Council for achieving high performance in professional activities.
