Chairmen of DPR and LPR People’s Councils sign Interparliamentary Cooperation Protocol

On June 15, following the working meeting of the representatives of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics’ parliaments, a Protocol was signed on cooperation between the People’s Councils of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

In order to ensure the mutual harmonization of the legislation systems of the People’s Republics, Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin proposed the creation of a coordinating body formed of deputies and experts of the DPR and LPR People’s Councils.

“We have a large-scale work to ensure the synchronization of norm-setting processes in order to harmonize the legal systems. This is a big and complex task, but given the path we have already covered, I am sure that it is quite within our power. The first step towards its implementation may be, in my opinion, the creation of a coordinating body – a working group formed of deputies and experts of the Republics’ parliaments.

I would refer the study and analysis of parliamentary and deputy activities, as well as the preparation of relevant recommendations and draft decisions for subsequent meetings to the tasks of the body,” said Denis Pushilin.

The result of the workshop with participation of the parliaments’ representatives of the DPR and the LPR was the signing of the Cooperation Protocol between the People’s Councils of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
