As part of today’s videoconference of the working group on security issues, the parties to the conflict reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the ceasefire. At that, representatives of the Donetsk People’s Republic insisted on the need for Ukraine to implement the agreements reached earlier. In particular, it was about the publication of orders for compliance with the ceasefire and the application of disciplinary measures to violators, as well as the conduct of thorough investigation of the incidents in Dokuchayevsk and Elenovka.
Unfortunately, at the moment we have not heard a constructive position of the Ukrainian party on these issues.
Particular attention was paid to the issue of the restoration of Vodafone communication. Despite the fact that the location of the connection disrupt is located on the territory under the control of the Ukrainian government, and the civilian population of the Donbass – the elderly, the poor, the disabled – has become the most affected by the lack of communication, Ukraine continues to accuse the Republic of creating problems with repair work. Given the importance of the issue, it was decided to continue the discussion at the Contact Group meeting on the future Wednesday. The OSCE SMM will be the mediator in the settlement of the issue.
