#Commentary of Marina Zheinova on Yury Lutsenko’s proposal to resume trade between Ukraine and Donbass People’s Republic

On June 6, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yury Lutsenko on his Facebook page suggested that resumption of Ukraine’s trade with enterprises of the DPR and the LPR is possible, provided they are registered in Ukraine and pay taxes to its budget.

Deputy of the DPR People’s Council Marina Zheinova in her commentary for RIA Novosti noted that such a proposal for people with basic economic education looks ridiculous.

“In fact, he proposes the Donbass people’s republics to fill Ukraine’s budget through trade with the DPR and the LPR. At the same time, the Prosecutor General forgets that the attacks by the armed forces of Ukraine do not stop. That is, such a sentence can be rephrased as follows: “Let us fire on you at your expense?”

The DPR and the LPR have not received such a ‘beneficial’ deal to act as a sponsor of hostilities against themselves for a long time. The Republics learned to cope with the economic blockade imposed by Ukraine. The Russian Federation, the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of Abkhazia are of great assistance in this,” the parliamentarian said.

Marina Zheinova noted that Lutsenko accompanied his post on Facebook with an illustration that says: “Trading with occupants is a crime!”

“The proposal of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine can be called a crime, if the armed forces of Ukraine are considered to be the occupiers of the Donbass,” the deputy summed up.
