#Commentary of Vladimir Bidyovka on process of invention of new Ukrainian plan called “Shatun”

Preparations for struggle for presidency are well underway in Ukraine. Many of potential candidates have already expressed their ambitions and Poroshenko seriously bothered to retain his post as president.

Thus, Poroshenko stated on his official Facebook page that he had assigned the National Security and Defense Council to provide for a separate meeting on countering the interference of the Russian Federation in the elections. Apparently, the example of the US, which continues to develop the theme of the Russia’s intervention in the American elections, was so attractive to Poroshenko that he decided to use it. Obviously, in the context of the Ukrainian specificity.

It should be noted that Poroshenko already has an experience using similar fake evidences in order to accuse his political opponents of working for Moscow. Consider, at least, a plan called “Shatun”, which was allegedly unearthed from the Assistant to the Russian President Vladislav Surkov, under which Ukraine would have been destabilized by three political forces: “Fatherland”, opposition bloc and radical party. These political forces were opponents to the Petro Poroshenko Bloc during elections to the Verkhovna Rada.

From all appearances, Poroshenko will use this kind of trick in the upcoming presidential elections, but there is no need to invent a plan like “Shatun”. The US is “highly likely” sure that Russian will interfere in the elections of other countries. According to Poroshenko, it will interfere in the Ukrainian elections as well. Now all that is left is to determine who Poroshenko’s P.R. people will call pro-Russian, so to speak, the element of the Kremlin’s intervention. And then it will be possible to exert pressure on him (or her) as the accomplice of the “aggressor country”.

Political struggle in Ukraine is increasingly acquiring the character of a witch hunt, which is all about accusing an opponent of the collaboration with Russia. The political forces are too busy to think about their people, especially about the establishment of peace in Donbass. Most of the representatives of significant political forces made their fortune through cooperation with Russia in the old days, made numerous trips to the Russian Federation, participated in joint events and, therefore, there is compromising evidence on each of them in the file cabinets of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc. Just in case…
