#Commentary of Vladislav Berdichevsky on anniversary of first wave of humanitarian convoy sent to Donbass by Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia
The Deputy of the People’s Council, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy, International Relations, Information Policy and Technology Vladislav Berdichevsky commented on the importance of humanitarian convoys sent by the Russian Federation for the inhabitants of the DPR and LPR in an interview to the Donetsk News Agency.
ʺThe Donetsk People’s Republic lived under very severe conditions five years ago – supplies of food and medicine were blocked by the Kiev regime, tens of thousands of people lost their homes, which were destroyed by Ukrainian army’s shelling.
The Republics received tremendous support from Russia, which could not remain aloof from what was happening in Donbass. We met the first humanitarian convoy carrying essential goods for the inhabitants of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republic five years ago. The Russian humanitarian convoys to the DPR and LPR are of great significance. They can be compared with the Road of Life during the siege of Leningrad.
We will never forget the help we received from brotherly Russia in the worst of times, we will be always grateful to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and to the whole Russia people,ʺ the deputy underlined.
