Delegation of People’s Council arrives in Republic of Abkhazia to participate in election monitoring
On August 22, a delegation of the People’s Council arrived in Sukhumi to participate in international monitoring of preparation and holding of the presidential elections in the Republic of Abkhazia. The delegation included Deputies Vladislav Berdichevsky, Alexander Bykadorov, Konstantin Kuzmin, Vasily Pertsev, Natalia Pshenichnaya and Alexander Seryozhenko.
A programme for the first day of the deputies’ stay in Sukhumi included an accreditation procedure to the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Abkhazia and a meeting with the Speaker of the People’s Assembly – the Parliament of Abkhazia Valery Kvarchia.
A deputy Vladislav Berdichevsky gave his commentary on the outcome of the meeting to the press service of the People’s Council.
ʺWe always receive a warm welcome in Abkhazia. There are hospitable people, who have always supported Donbass in its desire to be with Russia.
Today, we have been accredited in the CEC, and ahead of us lies an eventful programme. Our delegation will attend electoral districts, assess a level of preparation for the elections. We hope they will be held without violations,ʺ the deputy said.
