The chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin spoke about goals and objectives of the Russian Centre, the leader of which he was, in an interview to the correspondent of the official website of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
ʺThe goal of the Russian Centre is to rebuild the ties between Donbass and the regions of the Russian Federation that were lost during the years of Ukraine’s independence. We considered ourselves one with Russia at the socio-cultural level and were against the established borders between us back in the 1990s. Over time, we have resigned ourselves to this division. But now we have a chance to regain all we lost. The work of the Russian Centre includes a breakdown by direction and a clear elaboration of actions based on this division. Therefore, its concept can be formulated as follows: a detailed and systematic establishment of links in separate directions.
One of the main directions is patriotic education of youth. This is what will shape the future of our Republic. It is possible that we will see the results in five, ten or twenty years, but we need to work on it today. This direction in Russia is also actual and demanded, they already have succeeded and have surpassed us in many respects. However, given the demands of our society and the reappraisal of our values over the years of war, I think we will catch up with Russia and move on together.
A series of forums will be held in the regions of the Russian Federation in the near future. We plan to hold the final one in Donetsk, and I hope that it will allow us to build the right relationship with representatives of the Russian regions,ʺ Denis Pushilin said.
