Denis Pushilin: Any armed peace-support mission is unacceptable for us

Denis Pushilin, Permanent Representative of the DPR to the Contact group in Minsk, commented on the possibility of participation in the conflict settlement in the Donbass of an armed peace-support mission, the correspondent of the DPR official website informs.

“Certainly, our position remains unchanged: for us, any armed peacekeeping mission, whose actions can be traced through Yugoslavia, Rwanda and other conflicts, where the civilian population was simply destroyed, is unacceptable. Moreover, this contradicts the third paragraph of the Package of Measures, according to which control and verification are entrusted to the OSCE SMM, no other mission is prescribed there. Why should we be on Kiev’s bid? Our position remains the same,” the DPR envoy stressed.

It will be reminded that, according to paragraph 3 of the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk agreements, only the unarmed OSCE Special Monitoring Mission can monitor and verify the ceasefire and heavy weapons withdrawal in the Donbass.
