For the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics signing of the Minsk agreements is a big political victory, said in an interview with the official website of the Donetsk People’s Republic the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin.
The Speaker of the DPR parliament said that the peace negotiations – this is what the DPR originally has sought to, and Kiev, in turn, went on such a step only after several military defeats.
“We are well aware that the war has not ended, it has moved to another stage. If before the signing of the Minsk agreements we observed full fighting, then after signing – periodic attacks and provocations to encourage us to retaliatory action and to disrupt the Minsk agreements.
However, this is a great political victory for us. Before the signing of the Minsk agreements we were considered “terrorists” and “separatists”. With the signing of the Minsk agreements we become the subjects of the negotiation process. For us, this is a great chance to speak out in the international arena,” the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council said.
