Denis Pushilin calls PACE’s requirements for Ukraine on Donbass first step of Europe towards resolution of conflict
The Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin commented to the Donetsk News Agency the adoption by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe of a resolution on the humanitarian consequences of the war in Donbass. This document contains a requirement for Ukraine to review the “Reintegration” law.
The Speaker of the DPR Parliament stressed that until now Europe could not force the Ukrainian authorities to fulfill their obligations under the Minsk agreements.
ʺIf the PACE succeeds in obliging Ukraine to provide social protection for migrants and pay pensions to the residents of Donbass, this will be the first effective step of Europe to resolve the conflict,ʺ Denis Pushilin said.
According to the Chairman of the People’s Council, Kiev may reject the authority of the PACE’s resolution, pointing out the lack of legal force in this decision.
ʺLet us see how the PACE’s decision will be authoritative for Kiev and whether its politicians are going to change the adopted law,ʺ Denis Pushilin said.
