Denis Pushilin calls Rex Tillerson’s words about possibility of settling conflict in Donbass beyond “Minsk” example of political manipulation
Denis Pushilin, Permanent Representative of the DPR to the peace talks in Minsk, the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council, commented on the statement of US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson that Russia and Ukraine could come to an agreement on resolving the crisis outside the Minsk accords.
“The multi-level participants (Ukraine is the party to the conflict, the signer of the Agreements, and Russia is one of the guarantors) are proposed to resolve the conflict without one of the parties to the conflict (the DPR and the LPR), moreover, in “some (!) structure besides the Minsk agreements.”
Translated into a normal language, this means that the Americans are proposing to start discussing new agreements in a different format.
Such statements are a vibrant example of political manipulation and frank political bias, when they are trying to come to the rescue of the Poroshenko regime and withdraw from the stalemate in the Minsk agreements: it is impossible to fulfill, it is impossible but to fulfill,” Denis Pushilin said.
Earlier, on June 14, at a hearing in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, Tillerson said that the United States do not exclude an alternative way to resolve the armed conflict in the Donbass, which may differ from the Minsk agreements. “It is very possible that the government of Ukraine and the government of Russia could come to a satisfactory resolution through some structure other than Minsk, but taking into account the goals outlined there,” the US official said.
