Igor Plotnitsky’s decision to relinquish the authority of the Head of the Lugansk People’s Republic will not have any negative consequences for the Minsk process, said the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council, Permanent Representative of the DPR to the Contact Group in Minsk Denis Pushilin.
“The Minsk process will continue in the previous mode. There are no negative prerequisites after the resignation of Igor Plotnitsky from the post of the Head of the Republic, since he is now appointed as an authorized representative of the Lugansk People’s Republic for the implementation of the Minsk agreements,” the DPR envoy said.
On November 24, the Head of the Lugansk People’s Republic Igor Plotnitsky wrote a resignation letter on health grounds. This was informed by the LPR Minister of State Security Leonid Pasechnik. He thanked Igor Plotnitsky for his great contribution to the process of peaceful settlement of the civil conflict in the Donbass, and also said that the former leader of the LPR was appointed as an authorized representative of the Lugansk People’s Republic on the Minsk agreements’ implement.
