Denis Pushilin comments on possibility of hasty end to conflict in Donbass

The Chairman of the DPR People’s Council, the Permanent Representative of the DPR at the talks of the Contact Group in Minsk, Denis Pushilin, expressed doubts that the civil armed conflict in the Donbass will be resolved before the end of this year, provided that the position of the Ukrainian leadership remains unchanged.

Earlier, in an interview with the Belarusian portal, OSCE Special Representative to the Contact Group Martin Sajdik expressed the hope that the parties will show political will and will “put an end to this conflict this year.”

“Taking into account the real position of the official Kiev regarding the fulfilment of its obligations, including preventing the implementation of the Steinmeier’s Formula, blocking the process of the disengagement of forces and facilities in the third pilot site in Stanitsa Luganskaya, introducing elements of the communication blockade in due to the disconnection of the Vodafone network, attempts withdraw from the exchange of prisoners  “all for all” and the division of prisoners into categories, the opinion of Ambassador Sajdik looks overly optimistic,” Denis Pushilin told RIA Novosti.
