Denis Pushilin describes progress of investigation of Alexander Zakharchenko’s assassination
The Chairman of the DPR People’s Council, the Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative of the DPR in the Contact Group’s negotiations in Minsk Denis Pushilin described the progress of the investigation of the assassination of the Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko in an interview with RT.
ʺThe DPR established an operational headquarters in order to investigate the terrorist attack, which resulted in the assassination of our leader Alexander Zakharchenko. The employees of the Ministry of State Security are carrying out an investigation and working on all possible scenarios of the organization and commission of the terrorist attack. The involvement of Ukrainian security services is primarily considered,ʺ the DPR Speaker of the Parliament said.
According to him, it is the official Kiev that is aimed at destabilizing the political situation in the DPR, disruption of the Minsk agreements and escalation of the armed conflict on the line of contact.
ʺThe information received as a result of operative-intelligence measures is not made public in the interests of the investigation. However, it is obvious that the slightest clues are quickly being worked out, the interaction with the population in any public appeal occurs quickly. This confirms once again how the Republic is united. Since the beginning of the conflict, we have been through a lot and we are passing through this difficult period of tragic trials,ʺ Denis Pushilin said.
The Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic tragically died on August 31, as a result of the terrorist attack in the centre of Donetsk. The Donetsk People’s Republic placed responsibility for the assassination on Ukrainian security services and stated that the first suspects were detained, but their names were not revealed in the interests of the investigation. Let us add that a group of Russian investigators, who should find the assassins of the Head of the DPR, arrived in Donetsk. This was reported by Russian mass media referring to Head of the Intelligence and International Ties Department at Russia’s Federal Security Service Sergey Beseda.
