Denis Pushilin: Escalation in Gorlovka shows Kiev’s desire to carry out offensive plan

Ukraine’s actions in Donbass are becoming more aggressive and resemble 2014-2015. This was stated by the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council, the Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative of the DPR in the Contact Group’s negotiations in Minsk Denis Pushilin in a live programme “Time Will Tell” on the First Russian TV channel.

According to the Plenipotentiary Representative of the DPR in Minsk, Ukraine’s aggressive actions at the line of contact create a new impasse in the negotiation process.

ʺIt has become much more difficult for Ukraine to explain reasons why it does not implement the Minsk agreements. The coordinators of some subgroups from its side just abandon peace talks. The Ukrainian representatives could not think of anything better than to be rude and use indecent language,ʺ Denis Pushilin said.

Apart from that, he added that there was the Ukrainian military equipment at the sites of separation of forces and means in settlements such as Petrovskoye and Zolotoye and the withdrawal of forces did not take place in Stanitsa Luganskaya. According to an autonomous framework decision, which was supported by the representatives of the “Normandy Four”, military is prohibited to deploy in these settlements. However, the AFU are currently fortifying at the sites and the situation continues to deteriorate. Denis Pushilin noted that the direction of shelling of the civilians of Gorlovka had been documented in the reports of the OSCE SMM.

ʺThe situation in Gorlovka and in other areas reminds us about how we used to live in 2014-2015. We hear reports of house demolitions, direct hits on apartment buildings, schools, news about someone’s death or the situation has escalated at the line of contact. The AFU’s strikes are directed at civilians, at those, who are not able to protect themselves. We remind once again that this is when children do their homework in basements, when old people are concerned about whether they will awake in the morning or not,ʺ the Speaker of the Parliament said.

To sum up, Denis Pushilin Denis Pushilin pointed out that these events cannot be described as fortuitous, and they demonstrate further offensive plans of the Ukrainian government.
