Denis Pushilin: In framework of Minsk process, DPR does its utmost to prevent hostilities
The DPR representatives, in the framework of the implementation of the Minsk agreements, are doing everything possible to prevent the intensification of hostilities in the Donbass. This was announced today by the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council, the Permanent Representative of the DPR to the Contact Group in Minsk, Denis Pushilin.
“We are doing our utmost within the framework of the Minsk process in order not only to prevent the intensification of hostilities, but also to nullify any shelling within the framework of the ‘grain ceasefire’ that has begun. The introduction of additional measures to comply with the ceasefire could be an effective preventive measure to prevent the escalation of the conflict,” he said.
According to Denis Pushilin, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, unlike the official Kiev, are ready to sign additional measures, which the Ukrainian party sabotaged at the previous meeting in the subgroup on security in Minsk on July 11.
At that, the plenipotentiary representative did not rule out the development of the power scenario by the AFU in the Donbass.
“Every day the economic and political situation in Ukraine is deteriorating, and the current Kiev authorities, in order to prolong the agony, can go for any provocations, including an aggravation on the contact line with the DPR and the LPR. We are aware of this and the DPR Armed Forces are ready for any option of the events,” he stressed.
Earlier today, Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of ambassadors and permanent representatives of the Russian Federation announced the preservation of serious risks of aggravation of the situation in the Donbass. The Russian president noted that the reason for this was “failure by today’s Ukrainian authorities to fulfil their obligations, refusal to resolve the conflict peacefully.”
