The separation of forces and means near Stanitsa Luganskaya is a critical step, since the separation of forces along the whole line of contact should begin after it. This was reported by the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council, the Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative of the DPR in the Contact group’s negotiations in Minsk Denis Pushilin to “Izvestiya”.
According to the plenipotentiary representative, the separation of forces and means near Stanitsa Lugnaskaya is scheduled for February 22, but these plans may be ruined by the AFU’s provocation.
ʺUkraine continues to delay the process concerning the third pilot area, Stanitsa Luganskaya, so there is a reason not to move towards the realization of agreements,ʺ Denis Pushilin said.
He mentioned that the Agreement on the separation of forces and means, which was signed and agreed with the OSCE on September 22, 2016, in Minsk, and implied the separation of forces of the DPR, LPR and AFU in three pilot areas, in particular in Petrovskoye (DPR), Zolotoye (LPR) and Stanitsa Luganskaya (LPR). The agreements were implemented almost immediately after the signing in Petrovskoye and Zolotoye.
ʺIt is necessary to complete the separation of forces and means in three pilot areas. Then the parties of the conflict agree on new sites of separation – up to the withdrawal of forces and means along the whole line of contact,ʺ Denis Pushilin said.
