Denis Pushilin participates in celebration on occasion of professional holiday of railway workers
On August 3, a solemn event dedicated to Railway Worker’s Day took place in the Office of the “Donetsk Railway” state enterprise. The Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin, the Acting Minister of Transport Rostislav Markelov, the Acting Minister of Coal and Energy Anatoly Nesterenko and the Director-General of the “Donetsk Railway” state enterprise Oleg Kalevatykh attended the event to congratulate railway workers.
Rostislav Markelov delivered the congratulatory address of the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Alexander Zakharchenko.
ʺA railway line is the main link between industrial enterprises, manufacturers and population. The stable work of the railway is the result of everyday work of close-knit team, its professionalism and constant desire to move forward.
Today, the railway faces significant challenges such as rehabilitation of war-ravaged infrastructure, improvement and modernization of its technical base, enhancement of the quality of services and efficient use of a transport network. Addressing these challenges will be a worthy contribution to the development of the Republic.
Dear railway workers of Donbass! I wholeheartedly congratulate you! I wish well, health and peace to you and your families. Let your road always be smooth,ʺ the text of the congratulatory address said.
Denis Pushilin joined in the congratulations.
ʺOne of the most important roles has belonged to the railway in Donbass for a long time. 100 years ago, it was decided here that a railway would be a major carrier during coal and metal transportation. Our opponents realized it as well in 2014-2015: large railway hubs, whether Yasinovataya or Debaltsevo, still remain to be in the sight not only of news agencies, but also, unfortunately, remain to be under enemy artillery fire. However, we need to move on in spite of anything. We are developing through the goals we set ourselves in 2014 and understanding that we are doing it for our children and future generations.
Each of you makes a huge contribution to the work of the railway. Due to this, it is operational and it develops. Efforts from absolutely everyone are needed, not just the efforts of directors, but the efforts of those, who perform quite serious work every day. These are dispatchers, railway engineers and train drivers… I wish you strength, patience and, of course, faith in our young Republic!, the Chairman of the People’s Council said.
In the framework of the event, the representatives of authority took part in an awarding ceremony, where diplomas and gifts were presented to railway workers.
It should be reminded that Railway Worker’s Day was established by the Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko on July 15, 2015. The professional holiday is celebrated annually on the first Sunday of August.
