Denis Pushilin participates in international round table in Luhansk
On August 19, 2016, an international round table on the topic “Life of the Republic: socio-political and socio-economic aspects” has taken place in the Luhansk People’s Republic.
The event was attended by the Head of the LPR Igor Plotnitsky, the Chairman of the LPR People’s Council Vladimir Degtyarenko, the Chairman of the South Ossetia Parliament Anatoly Bibilov, the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin, representative of the LPR at Minsk negotiations Vladislav Deynego, the member of Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Andrey Sobolev and international public figures from Finland, Austria and Italy, political scientists and journalists.
Speaking at the round table, the Head of the LPR Igor Plotnitsky stated that the there is no alternative to the Minsk agreements and there cannot be any.
“Returning of people to Luhansk and to Donetsk exceeds the number of 95%. This suggests that people do not just come back home, they believed, they saw the difference, and today, this difference is very significant. We see what is happening in Ukraine. Which way of development, if you can call it development, does Ukraine follow? What do they undertake? Which ways to sort out the issue with us do they look for? We said and claim that there is no alternative to Minsk”, Igor Plotnitsky said.
The Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin stressed that Kiev is still not fulfilling the Minsk agreements.
“You have heard a lot about the Minsk process and, in particular, that Kiev does not fulfill their obligations. The matter is that Kiev cannot fulfill Minsk, and cannot but fulfill it. They cannot go on the offensive and cannot but go on the offensive… In my opinion, Kiev at the moment is not able to take appropriate decisions,” Denis Pushilin said.
Negotiations to resolve the situation in Donbass in “Normandy Format” will resume, if Europe is able to motivate Ukraine to implement the Minsk agreements, Vladislav Deynego said at the round table.
“The recent events is a clear manifestation of the Ukrainian side’s terroristic, aggressive nature, which they showed in Crimea and which now shows Mr. Poroshenko, claiming that they are preparing to repel Russian aggression on the territory of Donbass. And for that, they bring more and more echelons of weapons, manpower and other things. Does it mean that we are done with the “Normandy process”? No. If Europe is to find the strength to motivate Ukraine to perform real steps, “Normandy process” resumes.
Today we see that Ukraine has returned to the demarcation line both weapons up to 100 mm and heavy weapons, which were withdrawn in February-March 2015 immediately after the signing of the Package of measures. And Ukraine continues to escalate the situation,” the representative of the LPR at Minsk negotiations Vladislav Deynego said.
According to the LPR People’s Council Chairman Vladimir Degtyarenko, Ukraine, instead of finding a political solution to the conflict, continues to escalate the situation in Donbass in every way.
“Ukraine is pushing Donbass out from the Ukrainian economic space, depriving the residents living in the Republics of all social payments, while continuing to bombard towns and villages, destroying homes and killing civilians,” Vladimir Degtyarenko noted.
