Denis Pushilin: Private markets will be returned to owners

On September 13, during a meeting with the heads of Republic’s city and district administrations, the Acting head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, spoke in favour of returning the markets that had previously been transferred to state ownership to the rightful owners.

“As for the markets, the next challenge is that private markets will be returned to the owners. Only those markets that have been acquired or taken away bypassing state norms will be transferred to state ownership. As for the markets that were built at one’s own expense, there can be no question of this. Those markets, which nevertheless remain in the state property, should pass under the municipalities,” Denis Pushilin stated.

He specified that in the near future this initiative would be submitted to the session of the Parliament of the Republic for adoption of the relevant normative legal acts.

We recall that the Interim Commission of the People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic on the transfer of markets operating in the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic into state ownership ceased operations on June 16, 2017. The tasks assigned to this Interim Commission after its closure were transferred to the Interim Commission of the People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic on the transfer of markets operating in the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic to state ownership and the activities of enterprises and institutions – non-residents, at which temporary state administrations have been introduced.
