Denis Pushilin: Proposals for technical solution for restoration of Vodafone’s mobile services will be announced at next meeting in Minsk

The possibility of restoration of Vodafone’s mobile services in the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic completely depends on Ukraine at the moment and, on the part of the DPR, it proposed several variants of solving this issue. This was stated by the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council, the Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative of the DPR in the Contact Group’s negotiations in Minsk Denis Pushilin on February 9.

ʺUnfortunately, there were only statements made by Ukraine that they were supporters of the restoration of communication as well, but these statements did not result in some concrete steps. We have certain proposals on this issue, which we will discuss at the forthcoming meeting in Minsk. These proposals have been prepared by our technical experts,ʺ the Speaker of the Parliament said.

He clarified that the DPR had prepared several variants of technical solution of the problem. ʺIt is up to Ukraine what option it will choose to restore mobile connection,ʺ the Speaker said.

The signal of the Ukrainian mobile operator Vodafone disappeared in the territory of Donetsk People’s Republic on January 11 as a result of an accident. The place of communication breakage is in the territory controlled by Ukraine.  The issue related to the restoration of mobile connection was brought by the Contact Group in Minsk for discussion, but the solution of the problem continues to be delayed by the Ukrainian side.
