Denis Pushilin speaks about importance of road map’s adoption during meeting of committee in Federation Council of Federal Assembly of Russian Federation
On October 27, the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation held a meeting of the Committee of public support for the inhabitants of the South-East of Ukraine, chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Yury Vorobyov.
The event was attended by the State Secretary – Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters Vladimir Artamonov, permanent plenipotentiary representatives of the DPR and the LPR in the Тrilateral contact group at negotiations in Minsk Denis Pushilin and Vladislav Deynego, the heads of Lugansk, Kharkov, Odessa fraternities.
Issues of humanitarian aid to residents of Donbass Republics have been placed on the agenda of today’s meeting. Also, the participants were briefed on the migration processes in Russia in connection with the events in Donbass.
During the meeting Denis Pushilin spoke about the positive aspects of the meeting in
“I would like to emphasize the positive aspects of the meeting in “Normandy format”: first of all, it is just the existence of “Normandy format” and the continuation of its work, because it is a major platform for discussion of the existing conflict. Also the fact that all participants of the meeting supported the lack of alternatives to the Minsk process and, of course, that the question about the adoption of the road map was raised.
None of the political points have been fulfilled by Ukraine. The road map will help to synchronize the safety issues, will help to establish the exact time-bound,” the DPR envoy said.
He also said that compromise solutions were not reached at yesterday’s meeting in Minsk once again.
“There was little constructability at yesterday’s meeting as well. Even the issue initiated by Germany on the implementation of the “Steinmeier formula”, which was supported by the second time at the summit of “Normandy Four” in Minsk again caused (among the Ukrainian side – Ed.) unwillingness to discuss it constructively. We do not leave hope that the Western partners of Ukraine will find the possibilities of pressure on the Ukrainian side to fulfill its obligations.
There are definitely some changes in the Republics’ life. For example, increased professionalism of the ministries and departments despite the difficult situation in the Republic. Progress is evident, but our citizens are lacking attributes of a simple normal peaceful life,” Denis Pushilin said.
According to Vladislav Deynego, the lack of progress in the process of disengagement of forces and means in Stanitsa Luganskaya demonstrates unwillingness of Ukraine to fulfill Minsk agreements.
“For the LPR one of the most surprising statements made at the meeting in “Normandy format” was the fact that Poroshenko tried to raise the issue of assistance in recovering the debt for water from residents of our Republic.
Another resonant point. On the eve of the meeting the President of Ukraine visited Kharkiv with new appliances and ammunition load, apparently with the idea that this is how he will reach peace. After the meeting in “Normandy format” the LPR was bombarded again.
Control over the border, which they are trying to achieve so desperately, is very significant issue for them, because it will give the opportunity to resolve the conflict by military means, by the extermination of the Republics’ population.
Regarding disengagement of forces and means, we have worked out two sites – Zolotoye in the LPR and Petrovskoye in the DPR. Stanitsa Luganskaya is an indicator of further Ukraine’s mode of action, a demonstration of its unwillingness to fulfill Minsk agreements,” the LPR envoy said.
