Denis Pushilin: Tasks set by Alexander Zakharchenko will be fulfilled
The decision to hold elections of the DPR Head and the People’s Council deputies is a necessary measure for maintaining the system of state power in the DPR, Denis Pushilin, Acting Head of the DPR, stated in the 60 minutes programme on the Russia 1 channel.
He commented on the position of Ukrainian politicians, according to which the holding of elections in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republic violates the Minsk agreements.
“Elections of the Head and the People’s Council are necessary measures for the DPR. The position of Ukraine has long been known and understood. Ukraine by its actions – blockade, aggression, shelling in the end – has made the lives of the many simply unbearable. But four million people cannot exist in some kind of manual management, we can’t let things go by themselves. We must approach management in a consistent manner, and in the DPR this system is built, now we only have to develop it. We have a certain course set by DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko, and this course will be continued. The tasks that he set will be fulfilled,” Denis Pushilin said.
The Acting DPR Head called legislative initiatives of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine that declare DPR and LPR residents criminals a violation of human rights.
“We see another demonstrative violation of human rights. The bill under discussion does not agree with the Minsk process of peaceful settlement of the conflict. In fact, Kiev is after escalation of an already difficult situation. Believe me, it is difficult to communicate with our opponents on the Minsk platform even now, and with the adoption of such norms, the situation becomes actually stalemate,” Denis Pushilin noted.
We recall that today, on September 7, the People’s Council adopted a resolution on the early termination of the powers of the DPR Head, Alexander Zakharchenko, in connection with his death, and also appointed Denis Pushilin the Acting Head of the DPR. According to parliamentarians, the tragic death of Alexander Zakharchenko led to the legally stalemate situation in the Donetsk People’s Republic. In this connection, Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Senior Advisor to Justice Andrey Spivak submitted to the People’s Council an application of eliminating violations of the law and the need to appoint the Acting Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
