Denis Pushilin: Ukraine chooses war
A bill submitted by Petro Poroshenko on the resumption of Ukraine’s sovereignty over the territories of the Donbass Republics not only ignores the points of the peace agreements, but directly contradicts them.
Ukraine unilaterally recognizes the aggression of a foreign state against the position of the United Nations Security Council, although only this institution has the right to determine acts of aggression. Therefore, there is no discussion on and harmonization of the provisions of this project with the Republics’ representatives, as envisaged in the Package of Measures. Thus, the bill completely contradicts the Minsk agreements and blocks the negotiation process.
The bill on resumption of sovereignty, which gives the President of Ukraine the right to use armed forces in Donbass to ensure national security and defence, distances the DPR and LPR from Ukraine even more.
The passage of the bill meant only one thing: Ukraine chose war.
