Denis Pushilin’s statement regarding need to reconcile “Easter truce”
In accordance with the instruction of the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Aleksandr Vladimirovich Zakharchenko, today an appeal was sent to the OSCE requesting assistance in organizing an extraordinary meeting of the Contact Group in videoconference mode to discuss the “Easter truce” from April 1 and its main parameters.
We suggest focusing the attention of the armistice participants on the conditions important to its success: the non-engagement of fire, including the reprisal; non-conduct of offensive and reconnaissance-sabotage actions; strict prohibition of fire, both in the direction and from the settlements, the deployment and use of heavy weapons in settlements and in their vicinity, as well as the strict prohibition of the shelling of civilian infrastructure and its personnel. An obligatory condition for the implementation of a comprehensive ceasefire should be the publication of orders to the military of the armed forces of the parties about the non-violation of the armistice, as well as the development and application of disciplinary measures against violators.
Denis Pushilin, the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council,
the Permanent Representative of the DPR to the negotiations of the Contact Group in Minsk
