Deputy Vladimir Bidyovka comments on Poroshenko’s statement about preparations for terminating of friendship treaty between Russia and Ukraine
The statement of President of Ukraine Pyotr Poroshenko about the intention to break the Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership with the Russian Federation is aimed at raising his rating ahead of the forthcoming elections. This opinion was voiced to RIA Novosti by deputy of the DPR People’s Council chairman of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building Vladimir Bidyovka.
He noted that anti-Russian rhetoric will gain momentum and, perhaps, specific steps will be taken.
“In view of the fact that Poroshenko’s team is trying to at least slightly raise the rating of its master to no avail, and populist statements without real action have not been properly appreciated by nationalists, the administration of the Ukrainian president has relied on enhancing anti-Russian rhetoric,” Vladimir Bidyovka said.
According to the parliamentarian, such actions are not able to help the incumbent president of Ukraine, since he will not win the nationalists to his side, and in the Western community the price of Russophobia decreased. “Such statements prove the devastation of the chosen course. And the hope that Russophobia can be profitable to sell to Western curators is erroneous,” Vladimir Bidyovka added.
