Deputy Vladimir Bidyovka comments on protest action of Ukrainian miners demanding settling of wage arrears
The protest action of the Ukrainian miners near the Verkhovna Rada building in Kiev will not bring positive results due to the indifference of the Kiev authorities to the problems of coal industry employees. This opinion was voiced by deputy of the DPR People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka to the Donetsk News Agency.
“Before that, employees of coal enterprises held a number of rallies in the regions. Because of the huge wage arrears, the miners blocked the roads, went on a hunger strike, but were not heard. It is unlikely that today’s Ukrainian leadership will hear the voice of the miners even this time,” said Vladimir Bidyovka.
He added that the Ukrainian authorities with their anti-popular economic policies brought the coal mining industry of the country to a crisis. Therefore, the miners had no choice but to go to the building of the Ukrainian parliament and demand that their requirements are met at the legislative level.
At that, the MP stressed that the DPR authorities carefully treat the needs of their miners.
“So, during the Q&A session on June 28, 2018, DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko instructed to calculate the increase in salaries for miners in the main specialties,” the parliamentarian cited the example.
We will add that today about a thousand Ukrainian miners picketed the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, demanding settling of wage arrears.
