DPR delegation takes part in celebrations on occasion of second anniversary of Head and deputies of LPR People’s Council election
On November 7, 2016, the Deputy Chairman of People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic Olga Makeyeva, deputies of the People’s Council Andrey Bayevsky and Natalia Ivanishina took part in a solemn event dedicated to the second anniversary of the popular election of the Lugansk People’s Republic’s Head and deputies of the People’s Council.
In his opening speech the LPR’s Head Igor Plotnitsky noted significant progress of the state in the two years of independence.
“Lugansk People’s Republic is young independent state formed by the will of our people, and today the Republic has the fundamental attributes of statehood and political system.
The Republic was born as a result of fierce fighting of patriots of our native land for the right to speak their native language, for the right to honour the memory of our great ancestors who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and happiness of future generations. Through our unity we are successfully moving towards social development, economic strengthening and political viability,” Igor Plotnitsky said.
The Deputy Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Olga Makeyeva congratulated participants of the event with one of the most important dates in the life of the Lugansk People’s Republic.
“Dear compatriots! On behalf of the DPR People’s Council I cordially congratulate you on this remarkable holiday, with the second anniversary of the election of the LPR’s Head and deputies of the LPR People’s Council.
For us it is not just a holiday. This is a significant event associated with the word “independence”, with national unity, love for the Motherland.
For such a short period of time you have managed to do the most important thing: you managed to lay a solid foundation of legal, strong, fair state. Citizens of the LPR have proved that will, desire and firmness in defending of their choice are not only able to overcome the difficulties, but also achieve significant results in building an independent and democratic state,” Olga Makeyeva emphasized.
The DPR People’s Council deputy, vice chairman of the People’s Council Committee for Public Associations and Religious Organizations Natalia Ivanishina told the press service of the People’s Council about the event which was attended by the DPR delegation in detail.
“Today we have heard the report of the LPR’s Head on all the achievements of the state for a period of two years. It is gratifying that our fraternal Republic has grown rapidly in all directions – social, economic, educational… The LPR Parliament is fully functioning, prepares and adopts laws according to which Lugansk People’s Republic lives.
Today’s event was attended by guests from South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Russia to congratulate Lugansk people on the significant event,” Natalia Ivanishina said.
