DPR railway workers congratulated on their professional holiday

On August 4, a celebratory event, timed to DPR Railway Worker’s Day, was held in the Slavic Culture Centre in Donetsk. The commemoration was attended by the Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko and the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin.

The Head of the Republic expressed his gratitude to the railway workers for their valiant work.

ʺDear railroad workers! Dear veterans of railroads! I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to you today. A railway is a ‘circulatory system’ for any state. Unfortunately, our ‘circulatory system’ has been disrupted by hostilities. This is Ilovaisk, Debaltsevo, Donetsk, Yasinovataya…

And thanks to your efforts our railway works. Because of your efforts, our Republic lives. There are a lot of freight trains today and it was you, who made it happen. You are real patriots. No matter how hard it is, I believe that our railway will have passenger trains running in the near future. And that will also be thanks to you. Happy Holiday!,ʺ Alexander Zakharchenko said.

Denis Pushilin, for his part, thanked the railway workers for exemplary work and dedication to the chosen profession and presented honorary certificates to the best railway workers of the Republic.

ʺDear employees and veterans of railway transport! I sincerely congratulate you on your professional holiday.

During this difficult transitional period, I wish you patience, faith and understanding. We are now in a situation where we simply have an obligation to protect the interests of our future, the future of our children. I sincerely thank you for your patience, your dedication to your profession, your optimism and your industriousness. You are one of the first, who experienced all the complications and blockades, but did not surrender. The railway was always the main transport artery of Donbass, and they attempted to strike at it. But I am sure everything will be okay. We can cope with all difficulties!,ʺ the Speaker of the Parliament said.
